The proceeds of this North Atlantic Crossing will go to Villa Pardoes a unique building with high quality vacation units designed especially for children with life threatening illnesses.
The children who attend Villa Pardoes face challenges of their own and on a daily basis, enduring life threatening illnesses that affect them as individuals and all those in each family so the idea that someone will bike 3700 miles across the North Atlantic Ocean in aid of Villa Pardoes is a heart warming and much appreciated initiative by all those involved.
Each year over 400 families with children with life threatening illnesses from the Netherlands and Flanders come for a care free vacation and enjoy the required facilities and associated treatment. Whilst at Villa Pardoes the children are offered free entry to the Efteling, Beekse Bergen and Toverland, plus many independent companies in the area open their doors for free exclusively to guests of Villa Pardoes such as the bakery Piekfijn where the children enjoy the experience of baking a cake and cookies, in addition they can watch professional Soccer clubs train and spectate during actual matches, there are nature walks, workshops or even a foot reflex massage to enjoy.
We at Villa Pardoes wish Alex and Pete the very best of luck for their crossing and would like to say that they will be in our thoughts each and every day as though we were biking along with them. Good Luck!
